2009 Events at Denver Golf Club

Below are some of the events that we have held in 2009, so that you can get an idea of the range of events that we put on at Denver.

Burns' Day Monthly Competition

Sunday 25th January 2009

9.00 am Registration and team draw - and optional Burns' breakfast
10.00 am

Tee-off: Mini shotgun start. 18 holes over the combined courses; fourball, betterball format.
Each player receives two Mulligans and = handicap allowance.

Coffee with Bailey's liqueur or port at halfway point.
2.00 pm

Presentation of prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Teams and Nearest the Pin.

followed by

The winners presenting Scottish Country Dancing with crossed clubs (instead of swords!)

Open to all Members, Guests and Non-members.

Monthly Pro Swindle

Friday 26th June 2009

Jason and Karl have teamed up yet again and thrown the gauntlet to all oncomers and newcomers! The format of play is 9 holes greensomes. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams with a separate Team bet against the Pro's.

We will be using our Pro's Swindle Handicap Allowance System to allocate handicaps to the teams.

Open to all members, guests and general public.

If your team successful in its challenge, your team bet is doubled and your team has qualified to enter the end of year's challenge.

Tee-off at 6.00 pm.

Food will be available to all after play - so why not invite your family to join you after play? The menu is minced beef pie or a vegetarian alternative.

Teams will be drawn on the day and prizes awarded for the best 2 x scores over 6 holes; the best 3 x scores over 6 holes; the best 4 x scores over 6 holes; 1st, 2nd and 3rd Teams; and Nearest the Pin.

Come and help us celebrate the opening of the Hawthorns Course just one year ago. This is an afternoon and evening event starting at 2.00 pm and will include:

Denver Junior One-Day Summer Camps and Junior Competitions 2009

Kids, get into golf this summer! We are holding our regular One-Day Summer Camps and Junior Competitions, so forget the TV, Xbox or PS3 and join us for some great fun.

The days are packed with lots of activities for you to enjoy, everything is included - we even provide golf clubs if you don't have your own.  Lunch is provided on the full day camps, as are refreshments during the part-day activities.

So, why not come along and spend some of your summer holiday with us? We are here to help you enjoy your golf and learn so much more about this wonderful sport.
