We have listed on these page some of the events that we held in 2007, so that you can get an idea of the range of events that we put on at Denver.

Friday 26th January 2007
8.30 am Arrive for bacon or sausage roll with coffee/tea in Clubhouse
9.00 am 12-hole morning competition round
~12.00 noon 2-course lunch in the Clubhouse followed by 12-hole afternoon Competition round
3.30 pm Coffee/tea and award of Competition prizes in the Clubhouse

with £1,000.00 cash prize for a hole-in-one on the 1st hole in either round

Denver Juniors' Day

Monday 12th February 2007 (first day of half-term holiday)

Come and join us for a fun-filled day - with a putting/ chipping competition and a 12-hole medal competition! Here are the details...
  10.00 am Arrival and sign-in


  10.15 am Lesson and instruction
  11.30 am Putting/ Chipping Competition
  12.30 pm Lunch in the Clubhouse
  1.15 pm 12-Hole Medal Competition
  3.30 pm Awarding of Prizes and Medals
~4.00 pm Finish

Please note that sharing clubs is not permitted, but we do have clubs for hire. This will be a great fun day, so come along and enjoy it with us.

St. Valentine's Day - Couples' Competition

Wednesday 14th February 2007

How about a romantic day's golf with your Valentine - or someone else's?

This is a couples' competition, so you'll need a partner of the opposite sex. It can be your own partner, a borrowed partner, a son or daughter - so there is no reason not to play!

Here are the details for the day...

   9.00 am Arrive for bacon sandwiches or scrambled eggs on toast with tea/coffee for everyone

Denver Golf Fun Day

Friday 23rd March 2007

Arrive at 9.00am for a bacon or sausage bap and a mug of coffee or tea.

Take part in the 6-hole Fun Golf event and the a putting and chipping competition in the morning.

Then have a 2-course lunch with 
coffee or tea.

After lunch, enjoy a 12-hole competition in the afternoon.

Come back to the Club house for tea and cakes followed by the prizegiving.

Mothering Sunday 2007

18th March 2007

Why not treat your Mum or your wife to lunch at the Club on Mothering Sunday?

We'll serve you home-cooked roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes, followed by lemon cheesecake or cherry roulade with cream, and finally, fresh coffee and mints.

Denver Juniors' Fun Day

Friday 13th April 2007

Arrive at 10.00am. Finish at 4.00pm

The day includes lunch and a drink.  You will also receive some tuition on putting and chipping and there'll be a 12-hole Competition as well.

Winter League 2006-07

The Winter League began in October and ran to the end of February 2007.  Our Winter Leagues are open to all adults (age 17 and over). At the end of each season, there is a prize-giving event with refreshments to which all participants in the league and Members are invited.

If you do not already have a handicap, a handicap for the league will be calculated from the strokes recorded on three properly signed cards.

Winter League Presentation 2006-7

Saturday 14th April 2007

The presentation for the Winter League will be held on Saturday 14th April. There will be a 12-hole competition starting at 3.00pm followed by the presentation of the Winter League and the 12-hole competition prizes.

Afterwards there will be a delicious buffet supper for all to enjoy at 6.00pm. All participants are welcome to join in, as are Members even if they did not take part in the Winter League.

Denver Tigers' Golf Day Camp

Friday 1st June 2007


A fun and informative day for Juniors of all abilities - including coaching, competitions, lunch, 12 holes of golf, and prize-giving with certificates. 
Lessons and supervision by qualified PGA Golf Professionals. All necessary equipment will be provided and participating Juniors will be placed in ability groups.

9.45 am Registration. Each Tiger will receive a golf goodie bag.
10.00 am Golf coaching using the latest teaching aid - the Explanar!!
Chipping and Putting coaching - Fun games and competitions.
12.00 noon Lunch - consisting of a choice of bacon or sausage or a burger in a roll, with chips; a soft drink; and a slice of cake
Fun review of golf course rules and etiquette as the Pro's show you how NOT to do it!!
1.00 pm 12 holes of golf playing Texas Scramble Format. Nearest the pin and longest drive competition – for each ability group.
3.00 pm Prize & Certificate Presentation, including the days most improved Tiger. All family members are welcome to attend the prize giving.

Denver Ladies’ Fun Day

Wednesday  6th June 2007

Ladies, join us for an enjoyable day starting with coffee and biscuits when you arrive at  9.30 am.  Then, play 12 holes in the morning - including nearest the pin - and 2’s; followed by putting/ chipping competition.

Lunch will be served in the clubhouse - two courses with coffee or tea (something special for our girls).

After lunch you will play 12 holes in a different format, which will be explained on the day!

Finally, tea and cake will be there to welcome you after play while the prizes are being awarded.

Please add your name to the list at Reception. Come on, Ladies! You will have some fun - so let us see some new faces!

Over 55’s Fun Day - Open to all

Friday 29th June  2007

Anyone can join us for an enjoyable day.  We'll be starting with coffee and biscuits when you arrive at  9.30 am.

Macmillan Cancer Support Day

Saturday 14th July 2007

Macmillan Cancer Relief logo Denver Golf Club is holding this fund-raising event in aid of the work of Macmillan Cancer Support.  Here are the details of the day's events: Macmillan Cancer Support Donate logo


Bring and Buy and Car Boot Sale

Commencing at 12.00 noon, we will have a Bring and Buy sale along the driveway to the club.  Stall holders or boot sale entries can sell any items. (but please provide your own stalls). Please ring the office on 01366 385716 for details.

Refreshments will also be available from the clubhouse.

At 2 p.m. there will be a Golf Competition of 18 holes, with prizes and certificates for the winners. The competition is open to anyone and everyone is welcome to enter.

Refreshments will be available from the clubhouse.

Fundraising

During the afternoon, there will be a pony and trap will be on site for rides.  There will also be raffles and fun to raise money for this wonderful cause. All profits will be presented to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Evening Event


At 6.00 pm there will be a Lamb Roast and buffet (with children’s food prices available according to age).

Afterwards, we are holding a 12-hole golf competition with prizes and certificates for the winners - entry includes the full Lamb Roast and buffet with tea or coffee.

The Denver Junior Golf Summer Programme finishes on 31st August 2007 with the first Denver Golf Club Junior Open. The competition is open to all Junior players.

The day's programme will be:

  9.30 am 12 holes of golf in an individual format
  Lunch time Lunch in the Clubhouse
  Afternoon 12 holes of golf in a team format
~3.30 pm Prizes awarded for each age and ability group
~4.00 pm Approximate finish time
